Professor of political science at the University of Richmond, Dr. Palazzolo specializes in analysis of the legislative and political processes, budgetary policy and the electoral process. Palazzolo teaches courses related to contemporary political developments and legislative policy. His expertise in political processes extends beyond the classroom, as he served as a Congressional Fellow for former U.S. Representative and current Maryland governor Robert L. Ehrlich Jr. Palazzolo chronicled his experiences in his book Done Deal? The Politics of the 1997 Budget Agreement (Chatham House Publishers). He serves as an adviser for the Concord Coalition, a nonpartisan grassroots organization dedicated to informing the public about the need for generationally responsible fiscal policy. Palazzolo also ties the theory of the academy to practice in his role as director of the D. C. Initiative, an effort coordinated with the Career Development Center to provide eight-week summer internships that include a seminar and networking opportunities with alumni. Palazzolo received his B.A. from Trinity College, his M.A. from the University of Houston and his doctoral degree from the University of Virginia. |
